Mosquito Control

Mosquitoes especially are going to be troublesome this fall. Our evenings will be cooler than early August. We suggest that you look over your property and be sure to keep sources of standing water to a minimum. The standing water will not evaporate as quickly as in the heat of the summer. Mosquitoes do spread a variety of diseases. We can work together to reduce the dangers that mosquitoes present. Around our area, mosquitoes are basically one of two varieties. If you are stung during the day as well as at dusk you probably have a variety of the Asian tiger mosquito. Tiger mosquitoes are particularly numerous this year and are very aggressive. Remember that the Asian mosquito that stings is a female.

How does the Mosquito Control Program Work?

First, your licensed technician will inspect your property, noting any areas that mosquitoes tend to breed. Mosquitoes love to breed in standing water that collects in birdbaths, gutters, or discarded containers. These and other high risk areas will be treated with special products designed to control existing mosquito larvae.

Second, your technician will treat the remaining yard, paying special attention to where adult biting mosquitoes rest during the day including in the foliage of trees and shrubs, or in shaded areas like under decks and eaves.

In short, we offer a dual approach to reducing mosquito populations, which in turn, reduces, the number that may carry such diseases as West Nile, encephalitis, and dengue. This means an ongoing treatment is best option for protecting you and your family.

Our Mosquito control program consists of 7 treatments, once a month April through October. On each visit your technician will inspect and make recommendations on how to eliminate favorable breeding conditions and treat all existing problem areas of your property.

Because of the migratory nature of mosquitoes, it is impossible to prevent one from flying into your yard. However, ongoing treatments will help prevent mosquito infestations from developing on your property and will reduce the number of mosquitoes you see. Unfortunately we can not guarantee 100% control of mosquitoes but with the elimination of favorable conditions and timely treatments we can control the population.

Special Event Spraying

Outdoor occasions like weddings, pool parties, and family barbecues will become more memorable when you do not have to worry about the mosquitoes. We will treat the event area and any surrounding areas with a fast acting odor free product that will greatly reduce the number of biting mosquitoes.
